Who's Behind Midnight Hour

We're Midnight Hour, an independent goth label based in Los Angeles. Akiko and Danny, a wife-and-husband team, started it after years of designing and producing clothes for other brands.

Akiko leads design and studied fashion at Otis College of Art and Design. Danny runs production, and before that he built film sets here in LA.

Every style gets patterned and fitted in our own LA sample studio before it goes into production. We manufacture in Los Angeles factories and with partner factories in Asia, and we use third-party social compliance audits to check working conditions and fair pay. Some pieces are made right here in LA.

You can only buy from us through midnighthour.com and our app. We don't sell through outside retailers.

Our Bauhaus collection is officially licensed, and our Edward Gorey collection is made in partnership with the Edward Gorey Charitable Trust.

The rest of the catalog is sorted the way goths shop: witchy, whimsigoth, corporate goth, romantic goth, casual goth, and punk goth.

Questions Before You Order

Is Midnight Hour a legit company?

Yes. We're an independent label in Los Angeles, founded by Akiko and Danny, with a 4.7 rating on Trustpilot from 1,800+ reviews and 4.8 from 15,000+ reviews on Judge.me. Orders ship from the US, and our in-house support team answers emails within one to two business days.
How do returns and exchanges work?

You can request a return within 30 days of ordering. In the US, return shipping is free when you choose store credit, and free on exchanges when you pay shipping on the replacement piece.

Refunds go back to your original payment method minus a return shipping fee, which is waived if you added checkout+ when you ordered. Jewelry, sunglasses, tights and candles can't be returned, and final sale items are marked on the product page.

How does Midnight Hour sizing run?

Our size chart lists body measurements in inches and centimeters, with separate charts for women's tops and dresses, pants by waist size, unisex and men's, and shoes. Measure your bust, waist and hips, then match them to the chart before you order.

Every style is fit-tested in our LA sample studio before production. If a size still misses, you can exchange it within 30 days of ordering.
Where do orders ship from?

Every order ships from the USA. US orders of $175 or more ship free, and international customers can pay duties and VAT at checkout.
